Generator Overhaul At Jerudong Power Station (JPS1)

Hello Guys, sorry for the last updated. Was busy starting 01/09/2008 at the generator overhaul at Jerudong Power Station. This is my 1st time that been assign to the generator overhaul. Today is days 5 for the overhauling. The first day was ok, but the days go by.... is really very very tired. And I was told that the overhaul for the 1st generator will be 23 days to complete the job. Which is pull the rotor out and put the rotor in after all the testing that will be done by the BRUSH guys that come from UK. There are ALI & MICK. Just before puting in the rotor me and my partner Raymond must clean everything off. The rotor was the most hard part to pull it out from the stator winding. Everything must be measure and calculate. Below there are some pictures that show how big is the rotor and the stator winding.....

We usually see the motor in a small size. And inside the D.C motor are rotor and stator. Everything is small in size....... Just had a look how BIG is the rotor and stator.

Rotor (Center) and the Stator Winding (Around the rotor).

See how dirty is the rotor and the Fan Rod.

The other half of the cover had been taken out( Weight about 2 tons).

The rotor is fully out from the stator winding. And see again how dirty is the rotor. And its weight around 10 tons.

So the rotor is out and the next job will be testing and CLEANING up all the black oil thing u see there.

And its 18 days to due dates for us.
